Adopt-A-Road: Thank you!
Special thanks to Nancy and Milford Crist, Jodi Voss, Jeanette Vasquez, Kent White, and Doug Gondera for serving in the "Adopt-a-Road" clean-up last Sunday. AND thank you Nelson Bacchus for coordinating this community service.
Transformed Thinking
This Sabbath as we proceed into the study of how we can enjoy the richest life by having our character transformed to be like Jesus’ character I want to challenge with you some observations: God wants you to grow up by developing the characteristics of Jesus. Many remain spiritual babies because they never intend to grow. Nothing shapes your life more than the commitments you choose to make. Your commitments can develop you or they can destroy you, but either way, they will define you. Christlikeness is the result of making Chritlike choices and depending on his Spirit to help you fulfill those choices. Our salvation is already worked out by Jesus but Jesus character is worked into us by a cooperative effort of our commitments and Jesus’ power.
Attention to all Kindergarten-5th grade kids and parents
A new and exciting program has begun in K-5 studying "The Fruit of the Spirit".
Children often learn to recite the list of Fruits of the Spirit at church, but it is not always easy for them to understand these character traits and Christian values.
We will be learning one virtue every week with memory verses, discussing how to apply them in daily living and send home activities to reinforce what was learned. Please remember our program starts at 10 am with prizes for early comers. Also, check out our website under children's ministry for new fun activities.
Memory Verses for the next few weeks
July 31 - Faithfulness – “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” Psalm 57:11
August 7 - Gentleness - "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, but do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15
August 14 - Self-Control - "Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." Ephesians 6:1
DNA Classes on the Calendar
DNA class is when you can learn about the philosophy of ministry, beliefs, values and stories of SGF. Everyone of these have been really fun, brought all who attended into close fellowship and are necessary if you would like to join SGF as a member.

Part II – Friday night, September 17, 7-9 PM
Uplands Property Town Meeting August 14
Please mark August 14 to stay by after church to review the recommendation of our Board concerning the future of the Uplands property. These 40 acres remains in our possession, yet because of the dramatic change in the economy over the last four years has become a significant drain on our operating funds. What are our options? Food will be provided.
